Artist Stephen Rue Makes Presentation to New Orleans City Council for New Orleans Arts in Education Program

It was my honor to be part of this morning's presentation to the New Orleans City Council regarding our foundation for Arts for Education. My "YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE" piece was selected to give each Council Member and as one of the featured works of art for the benefit in New York next weekend.

Stephen Rue Art, entitled "FIELD OF LIFE" is painted on wood, with acrylic, latex and soil from the New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward. (Back of Wood Painting Painted in Caladium Red Acrylic, Signed by Artist) The piece is dedicated to the those facing the challenge of breast cancer and the brave survivors of breast cancer, including my own mother.

The piece is also dedicated to the ultimate cure of breast cancer.

I am pleased to release my work entitled "ZULU ANNIVERSARY". " ZULU ANNIVERSARY" is created on canvas and painted with Acrylic. The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club is the largest African-american Mardi Gras organization in New Orleans. This year is zulu's 100th Anniversary.

I am pleased to release my work entitled "ZULU GRAND MARSHAL". " ZULU GRAND MARSHAL" is created on canvas and painted with Acrylic. The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club is the largest African-american Mardi Gras organization in New Orleans. The organization, called a "Krewe" parades on Mardi Gras Day with everyone wearing "black face" as a mask. This has been a respectful tradition for the past 100 years of Zulu's existence. As the artist, it was my honor to be the first Caucasian "Mr. Big Stuff" character for the 100 Anniversary of Zulu.
